Timmy Tong has provoked a LEGCO subcommittee to be formed

The DAB’s Ip Kwok-him has been elected to chair a Legco subcommittee that will set-up an investigation into allegations that the former head of the ICAC, Timothy Tong, misused public funds. Mr Tong has been accused of lavishly entertaining mainland officials during his five-year term.

Timmy Tong was a man around town

He was back in front of LEGCO on Saturday where he received another grilling.

The committee also heard that Tong had hosted receptions in places such as the Jockey Club, the Football Club, the Country Club and Tai O. He also spent more than HK$35,000 at the Grand Hyatt hotel when Procurator General Cao Jianming visited from Beijing.

Mr. Tong were the souvenirs made of gold?

On.cc reports that Mr. Timmy Tong known for his penchant fine wine, shark fin soup, and high tea reportedly spend HK$724,000 on souvenirs during his term. This was all with taxpayer money.

Another public hearing has been scheduled for Saturday. LEGCO is really having fun with him. Maybe they’ll question him about his penchant for high tea.
