ICBC: Was it Temasek who bought Goldman’s garbage?

Exchange documents yesterday showed that Temasek bought 280mm shs of ICBC at an average price of 5.5 equivilant to Goldman’s placement price range of 5.47-5.5. Temasek’s percentage holdings of the stock increased to 7.04% from 6.71%.

From The Standard:

The investment bank offered to sell shares of ICBC for HK$5.47-HK$5.50 apiece, representing up to 3 percent discount of today’s close at HK$5.64.
The move will mark the complete exit from ICBC of Goldman Sachs, who was a strategic investor that helped the lender to launch its IPO in 2006.
