Dongfeng, which makes cars with Nissan Motor Co and PSA Peugeot Citroen in China, will inject capital into Fujian Motor Industry Group Co in exchange for an undisclosed stake from the Fujian provincial government, according to an e-mailed statement yesterday, which didn’t include financial details.

“We are investigating whether there was insider trading and we searched the offices and homes of five suspects,” Taipei Deputy Chief Prosecutor Huang Mou-hsin told Bloomberg News late yesterday. Those people include employees from MStar and another company, he said, declining to name the second company. He wouldn’t say if the investigation is related to the planned deal or provide a time-frame of when the suspicious trading occurred.
