TSMC needs to stay vigilant. Intel will reportedly receive more 14nm chip orders from Apple at the expense of TSMC. Intel’s 14nm yield is about 20% more and price 50% less than that of TSMC.

Computex 2013: Intel reveals 4th gen processors

Intel has introduced the fourth-generation Intel Core processor family. With power levels as low as 6W in scenario design power, Intel said it is enabling thinner, lighter, cooler, quieter and fanless designs. New Intel Core processors also power designs such as all-in-one PCs with great battery life, bringing portability to the growing category. The fourth-generation Intel Core processors are capable of delivering up to 15% better performance than the previous generation.

Despite the sizable display, it weighs just 162 grams and measures 6.9 millimeters thick, and should be available across greater China right now for RMB 3,299 (around $536) — or RMB 2,999 if you’re lucky.
